Chinese visa for U.S. citizen born in HK - no birth cert or pp

Born in HK, came to US in 60's - it's been almost 50 yrs. I don't have HK birth cert or passport. Have never visited HK or China. All I have is my orig naturalization paper and a valid US passport. Think I need to go to NY consulate in person. Question is what do I need to bring with me? I will have the application form, picture, passport. Do I need to write a statement and have it notarized before going to consulate? What should it say - Chinese and/or English? What window do I go to with this situation? Thx.

You need to bring the application form, picture, passport, original naturalization paper and its copy. You don't need to write a statement and have it notarized before going to consulate. Just go to the visa office of China consulate in New York. Then you will know the window to submit application.
