About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

Chinese visa (tourist) for a Danish citizen traveling from South Korea.

Currently I am studying in Seoul. I am traveling from South Korea 4th of July to Beijing. Afterwards I want to travel around in China for three weeks before going back to Denmark the 25th of July from Hong Kong. My Korean Alien Registration Card expires the 26th of August and is therefore not valid in six months as it is supposed to be. I can not apply for a VISA at the traveling agencies because of the six months validity period. I can not figure out what to do - I have called a couple of times without luck though. I hope that you can help me out!

Regards
Mads

I'm afraid you will not be able to get a China visa in South Korea if your Korean Alien Registration Card will expire August 26th, but you plan to enter China on July 4th. The proper time to apply for a China visa is about one month ahead of your entry to China, that is to say you should apply for the visa in June when there will be only around 2 months validity on your Alien Registration Card.
You may change to apply for the China visa in Hk.

Okay, so correct me if I am wrong. I can not apply for a visa to China because of the validity date in August. Therefore I have to wait until June and then apply when there is only two months validity back on my Alien Registration Card.
I do not understand why I should wait when the problem is the expiring date on my Alien Reg?

If I just want a tourist Visa for China - what should I do then?

Remake my Alien Registration Card?
Show up at the Chinese Embassy?

BTW. I am arriving at Beijing July 4th.

Mads Kristoffersen, you can't obtain a China visa in South Korea because the rule that non-Korean applicants have to provide ARC with at least 6 months remaining validity, please go to Hong Kong to obtain a China visa through China Travel Service Hong Kong Ltd. Co, then travel to Beijing on July 4th, 2012. I'm afraid that you have to change your travel itinerary, South Korea - Hong Kong- Beijing- other places within Mainland China- Hong Kong- Denmark

All right - if it is the only way I will do it so.
Is it possible to make the Visa in Tokyo or should it be Hong Kong?
If I make it in Hong Kong or Tokyo would it be accepted if my travel itinerary looked like this: South Korea - Hong Kong - South Korea - Beijing - Hong Kong - Denmark? Or should I travel directly from Hong Kong to mainland China?

Thanks!

You'd better apply for the visa in Hk, and then travel directly from Hong Kong to mainland China, since I'm not sure whether you can get a visa in Japan, but I'm sure you may get a visa in Hk through China Travel Service Hong Kong Ltd. Co.

You can not get a China visa from South Korea, but it is easy for you to apply for a China tourist visa in Hong Kong, through the Commissioner's Office of China Foreign Affairs there if you go in person. Other option for you is mailing back your passport and application to Denmark. Let your family or friend apply on your behalf and then, enter from South Korea. About the travel itinerary, it is up to your choice. But make sure that a single entry China tourist visa is valid for 3 month from issue date and you can enter China once if it is single entry.
