How long will it take to renew a passport?

It takes 30 working days, and no express service provided. You don't need to submit your original passport, the photocopy will be ok. You must go to the embassy or consulate submit the application in person. The new passport may be mailed back to you, but you have to pay special service fee for this and provide a self-addressed pre-paid return courier bag or envelope with enough stamps.
