About:Chinese Embassy in Georgia

I will like to know if i can apply for visa with my admission letter from a school in china.

Is it compulsory for me to have residential permit before I'm given a student visa?

To apply for a China student visa, you also need to present your valid passport, a completely filled visa application form, the original and copy of approved Foreign Student Visa Application Form (JW201 or JW202) issued by the Chinese authorized unit and a passport size photo.

The residence permit should be applied at the local public security authorities within 30 days of your entry into China.
