Which entry permit should I apply? A China VISA or a tai bao zheng? or both?

I am a Taiwan citizen living in the U.S. I have to go to China for a seminar. Which entry permit should I apply? A China VISA or a tai bao zheng? or both?

You should apply for a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (Taiwan Compatriot Permit) for this. The required documents are: your Taiwan passport, a recent-taken passport standard photo and your Taiwan ID card.
