The required documents for you to apply for a Chinese tourist visa are:
1. Your Chilean passport and photocopy of its data pages
2. Complete visa application form V.2011A and supplementary visa application form V.2011B
3. one passport photo
4. the Japanese alien registration card and its photocopy
5. the round-trip flight tickets, hotel booking, travel itinerary

You can apply for visa at the first or second week of April if you plan to go to China around May 17, 2012. A single entry tourist visa is valid for 3 months, applicants are generally advised to apply visa one month before the departure. It takes 4 working days for visa processing.
