About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Do I need visa in advance?

I am a Japanese citizen, and plan to attend the international academic meeting in Beijing.
The schedule of that meeting is announced from 10-14 June.
Therefore, my staying period will be less than a week.
In such case, do I apply for visa in advance?

You don't need a visa for this, since Japanese passport holders are allowed to enter China without visas for up to 15 days for tourism, including visiting family or friends, or minor business purposes provided they enter through nominated international ports.
