can i still get a multi entry pass just to shenzhen area when in hk with my us passport?

I'm a US citizen visiting Hong Kong soon. I have friends in Shenzhen who have offered me a place to stay. While in Shenzhen I will need to travel to HK several times.  Does Shenzhen still have an entry VISA valid just for the area that can be had at the point of entry at the time entry is needed?

Yes, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone does provide a 5-day on-arrival Shenzhen visa at some entry port, but passport holders of US and France are not eligible for visa on arrival application and even get fined for arrival without a valid China visa in Shenzhen.Thus, you'd better apply for a multiple entry China visa in advance.
