Marriage to a Japanese national in Shanghai

I am a British citizen engaged to a Japanese man in Shanghai. He works here, I study. We have both been here for more than two years. Is it possible to get married in China and if so is it possible to do so at the Japanese Embassy? Also, what are the necessary documents needed? Thank you for your advice.

You may either register your marriage at the Consulate General of U.K. in Shanghai or Consulate General of Japan in Shanghai. genrally, the required doucuments include Single Status Certificate or something equivalent to it, passport, birth certificate. However, different countries may have different requirements. You'd better Contact the Consulate General directly to get the exact details.
