transportation to hungshan district

Question

We plan to visit Huangshan in late Oct. or early Nov. from Hangzhou. What are the best ways of transportation to get into Huangshan district? Any direct fly from Hangzhou? If from Shanghai, how long the flight will take? Or is it O.K. to travel from Shanghai by rail- if so how long it will take as all of members in the group are over 70. Thanks for any advice.

There is no direct train or flight from Hangzhou to Huangshan. You will need to take a long distance bus and it takes you about 3 to 4 hours. If you do not want to take the bus, you can also take train from Hangzhou to Shanghai (1 hour by G train), then take a flight from Shanghai to Huangshan(about 1 hour).
