Transit through guangzhou？

Hi, I am flying from Hong kong to ho chi minh and later from ho chi minh to dubai both stopping in guangzhou do i need a transit visa for this? also the waiting times aren't that long so i would just stay in the airport.

Visa is not required if your transit in the airport is less than 24 hours without leaving the airport.
