About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

i am australian but staying in indonesia at the moment. I can i obtain a tourist visa from here?

You can't obtain a China tourist visa from Indonesia if you are not a resident in Indonesia. The Indonesian residence permit or work permit valid for at least 6 months is required for non-Indonesian applicants.

thanks for that information. My friend told me it was possible to obtain a visa for china in hongkong as i will be there before hand. Can you confirm this is possible and how long it will take and how much?

Yes, you can apply for a China tourist visa in Hong kong. It generally takes 4 working days. If you need visa within 1-2 days, the rush service is available. Visa of single entry fee is HK$200.
