Malaysian Visit Visa for Transit and Short Visit for Chinese national

I am a NZ national living and working in China. My wife is a Chinese national. On March 19 we will fly to Christchurch via KL. (1) Can I obtain a transit visa for her at the LCC terminal at KL for our overnight stay? (2) when we return to China after 2 weeks in NZ, I will work for one week in KL in early April. She will fly back directly to China unless we can get her an appropriate visa to cover this time. What should she do to obtain the necessary visit visa - apply here in Beijing, or is it possible such a short visit visa could be issued at the KL Airport? Thank you.

1. you may apply for your wife a Malaysian transit pass at the KL airport with her Passport valid for more than 6 months on arrival day and Confirmed onward international ticket.

2. For your return trip, I think you can just apply for a Malaysia visa for your wife from Malaysia Embassy or Consulate in China. You can contact them through the contacts on this page to get the exact details: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/foreign/beijing/malaysia.htm
