Visiting Relative Visa to China

Is it possible for me to obtain a visiting relative visa in Japan with an American passport? If so, How long does the process usually take? And what documents are needed?

You can apply for a China visa from the China embassy or consualte in Japan. The visa process usually takes around four working days.
You have to submit the following documents:
1. A ful-filled China visa application form V2011A & V2011B;
2. Your original passport with at least 2 blank pages and 6 months valifity;
3. A recent-taken certificate photo of 4cm×3cm without hat;
4. hotel reservation in China and round-way air tickets;
5. Photocopy of your passport with stamps of your valid entry to Japan.
