travel to see leshan buddha from guilin

What is the best way, other than flying, to see the Giant Buddha? Do you recommend any places to stay, in Leshan or in Chengdu? Thanks

you may also take a train from Guilin to Chengdu if you don't want to take a plane.  I think you may just stay in Chengdu City, since it just takes about 2 hours from Chengdu to Giant Buddha and the conditions and surroundings of the hotels in Chengdu will be better.
