About:China Visa on Arrival

VISA for attending an EXPO in Guangzhou

Hi, I am A Filipino Citizen working in Cambodia. I will be representing our company to attend an EXPO in Guangzhou on Mar.9, 2012. Chinese Embassy in Phnom Penh cannot issue me a VISA, they said I need to apply in the Philippines. Reading the article above, am I qualified to request for a VISA at the Airport on my arrival at Guangzhou? Apparently I cannot and do not have enough time to go in the Philippines for the VISA. If I can request for a VISA On ARRIVAL, what documents will i need to bring? (will the invitation letter from the Exhibit Organizer suffice?)

thanks in advance for the response.

You are not qualified to request a visa on arrival at the Guangzhou Airport. If you have a work permit and residence permit valid for at least 6 months, you can apply for a China business visa at China embassy in Phnom Penh.

what happens if you go there hoping that they can issue you a visa, but they did not? deport? hold? pay excessive charges or penalties?

I appreciate your reply

If I will be held, can the person who invited me there pick me up and accompany to the authorities so that they can issue me a VISA?

how about if that person was a representative of a company where we will visit?
how about a Chinese national who invited us for a tour?

sony, if you don't have a valid China visa on your passport, you will be denied to board the plane from Cambodia to Guangzhou, once you are refused to enter Guangzhou, the airline company will be fined to carry you back, therefore, you can't board the plane without a valid China visa.

The invitation letter from the Exihibit Organizer is not sufficient for you to get a visa on arrival, if you really want to get a visa on arrival, a representative of you company has to get an official letter from Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office which approves you to get a visa on arrival, however, the chance is slim.

As peter replied, if you have a Cambodian work permit and Cambodia residence permit valid for at least 6 months, you are qualified to apply for a China business visa at China embassy in Phnom Penh.

thanks for clarifying the procedures to me Emma. I appreciate it.

probably they changed the procedures now, because the Chinese Embassy here in Phnom Penh said that they cannot issue VISA for Filipino citizens, i need to go to the Philippines and request from the Chinese Embassy there.
