What exact area of Australia are you in now? Since the China Embassy in Australia now only accept visa application from residents in Capital Territory (Canberra District), South Australia or North Territory, and residents of the other parts of Australia should apply for the China visa from the specified China visa service center. You may just pay the visa fee to where you apply for the visa, and the staff working there will tell you the relevant payment details.
