About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

I will be in transit Pu Dong to Wusongkou port- duration 11 hours Do I need a visa, what cost?

Australian passport holders are permitted to transit Shanghai for up to 48 hours without a visa. In this case, you don't need to apply for a visa in advance as you'll stay in Shanghai for 11 hours.

Thank you for the reply This contradicts advice others have received. Please see below.
Advice others have received [from Embassies, see cruise critics] is that transit AIRPORT to AIRPORT within 48 hours is indeed OK, but in the case of Airport to Ship, this clause does NOT apply.Therefore visa is imperative.I have attempted to get a ruling from the Chinese Embassy in Canberra, by e-mails, but they have NOT replied.

Brian Newcombe, you need a visa for this transit (Pudong Airport to Wusongkou Port), it is not a transit between the same airport or two airports.
