About:Chinese Embassy in Malaysia

Malaysian student currently in united kingdom.

Heading to china for about a week for holidays to visit some friends over there. It seems like I have to apply tourist visa in London as its the nearest to my place here. Is there any requirements? Like letters from friends in china etc? Wouldn't want to have any trouble getting pass the immigration there.
