About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

How far in advance can I apply for Chinese Visa? Whats maximum entries allowed on first application?

I have a 1 year multiple entry Chinese visa already, and will be bringing my children to China for 2 weeks at end of March ...we will be in and out of the country (to Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand) Can they get a multiple on their first application? HOw early can I apply for these?

It is hard to get a multiple entry visa for first-time applicants, the embassy will issue a single entry or double entry visa to first-time applicants. A single entry visa is valid for 3 months, therefore, you can't apply for Chinese visa 3 months earlier than the entry date of China. For example, you will enter Mainland China on May 1, 2012, you can't apply China visa before Feb 1, 2012.
