About:China Visa

getting a chinese visa

I am a Canadian citizen traveling to China for the first time. I have been told I have to purchase a single/double entry visa I am not allowed to get a multiple entry visa. Is it easy or difficult to get a visa once I am in china? When does the visa become active? Upon my first time entering china? I plan on visiting other countries before I go to china and therefore I am unsure of when I will specifically be in China.

Does anyone know about Macau? Do I get a visa for Macau once I in the country?

thanks so much!

Because you go to China for the first time, the embassy won't issue you a multiple entry visa, it is greatly possible for you to get a single/double entry visa. It is hard to get a visa once you are in China, you can extend your visa or apply for a new visa, but it is difficult. The visa becomes active from the date of issuance. For example, your visa is double entry, issued on March 1, 2012, enter before september 1, 2012, you can use the visa to enter China twice from March 1, 2012 to Sepetmebr 1, 2012. The stay duration is counted from the date of entry.

It is possible for you to get a China visa in Macau.
