my travel is 9may -13may 2012 and my pasport is valid 02nov 2012 cant go with this pasport for visa or i must renew the pasport?

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months when you apply for China visa. So there will be no problem if you apply for the visa 6 months ahead of the passport expiring date. However, you may not apply for the visa too early, for a single-entry China visa is valid for 3 months starting the issuing date. 1-2 months ahead of the departure date will be fine.
