About:China Work Visa

Requirements for Foreign Expert Certificate

Do I need to have my original working permit (from the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, P.R.C.) to apply for my Foreign Expert Certificate? My employer says "yes", the visa service says "no" and they did not return it with my passport and Z visa.

Kitty, after you hold Z visa to enter China, your employer has to help you to apply for Foreign Expert Certificate within 30 days , the orginal Foreign Expert Work Permit issued by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs of China you use for Z visa application in USA will be required for Foreign Expert Certificate application. Once you get the Foreign Expert Certificate, you also need to apply for Residence Permit at the local exit-entry administrative department of public security bureau within 30 days after you enter China.
