I'm afraid that your Hong Kong visa application will be denied by the visa office of China embassy in KL or China Consulate in Kuching because your Malaysian Dependent Visa doesn't have 6 months validity (it expires in March 2012).

Question again to Linda from Dr Moe Tun (Myanmar) about Hong Kong visa.

Linda picked up the nearest renewal date of our dependent pass and gave opinion on that. In fact, we are going to apply Hong Kong visa in early May 2012 when our Malaysian pass has been already renewed and be valid till September 2012.In that case our pass still has at least 4 to 5 months validity and I hope, with flexible consideration we can get the visa to Hong Kong.
Looking forward to receiving reply soon,
With best regards,
Dr Moe Tun, Myanmar retired doctor

sorry, now I understand you, you renew your dependent pass visa in March 2012 for another 6 months, then you apply Hong Kong visa in May, at that time, your dependent pass visa has 4 or 5 months validity left. You'd better call the Kuala Lumpur Embassy to check it. If the embassy insists that you can't apply HK visa in Malaysia because your dependent pass visa doesn't have 6 months validity, nobody here can help you. Good Luck! Hope the embassy make a flexible consideration.
