What type of visa will I get if i have an invitation for work in Shanghai?

With the invitation letter from duly authorized China unit or confirmation letter of invitation, you can either apply for an F visa or a Z visa.
If you are going to work in China for less than 6 months, an F visa will be enough. If you want to stay longer in China, you'd better apply for a Z visa.
