Is it possible i renew my X study visa in china or i have to back Iran?

Hi and wish best days of end of 2011
I am from Iran and student in china , is it possible i renew my X study visa in china or i have to back Iran?

Upon entering China within 30 days, you must have changed your student visa to a temporary resident permit. You can extend/renew this resident permit within China before it expires.
