About:China Visa

I am a retired US citizen with a Temporary Resident visa. Can I renew it from outside China?

My Temporary Resident visa (based on marriage) expires in Sept. I will be out of China part of July, all August and most of September. As my visa will expire before I return to China, is it possible to renew the visa at a Chinese Embassy in America? I hate to terminate my trip early but do not want to give up my Temporary Resident status. Any advice?

You can't renew your Temporary Resident visa (based on marriage) at a Chinese embassy in America. You have to renew it at the exit-entry administrative bureau where you get it in China.
