travel within china after arriving on crew visa c?

Question

I'm arriving near the Christmas Holiday as a Captain on United Airlines scheduled flight to Beijing. I'm working the flight. The layover is 52 hrs. , so I want to visit the Terricotta Soldiers? Can I do this inner China travel on my C Visa?

I am a pilot with a 96 hour layover in Shanghai.  I want to also travel in country but cannot find out if the C category Visa that I have will allow me to do that.  Let me know what you find out.
