If i fly into Shenzhen and then leave for Macau and come back to Shenzhen, and then leave for Hong Kong and come back to Shenzhen - do i need a single entry entry or multiple entry visa ? I need to enter shenzhen 3 times but i don't meet requirement for multiple entry "L" or "F" visa.

You need a multiple entry Chinese visa because you enter Shenzhen for 3 times. You can write your planned itinerary Shenzhen- Macau - Shenzhen - Hong Kong - Shenzhen 5.2 Section on the visa application, then the visa officer will know that you really need a multiple entry, just try your luck! If you only get a single entry China visa, you can change your travel itnerary or try to apply for 5 days Shenzhen visa on arrival at the port.
