It is impossible for you to change social visit visa into work visa within Mainland China, even through your employer gets the Alien Employment License and Invitation Letter of A Duly Authorized Unit, you have to return to your home country to apply for work visa, then hold work visa to enter Mainland China, apply for work permit and residence permit within 30 days after entry.

Alien Employement License is not equal to Work Permit, Alien Employement License is issued to you for work visa application. Once you enter China, you have to change it into work permit.
