china visa from malaysia

I am a UK citizen. If I am in Malaysia,can I get a six month tourist visa to China or will three months be the maximum?

If you don't hold a Malaysia residence permit or work permit, I'm afraid that your application will be denied. Do you mean you want to get a tourist visa with 6 months stay duration? It is hard for you to get it, generally speaking,  tourist visa is single entry, valid for 3 months, permits 30 days stay duration.
