Can I apply for a China visa when I first enter China on my way to Singapore?

I am travelling through China on a connecting flight to Singapore. I am in Singapore for two weeks and on the way home to Canada I would like to stay two days in Beijing. Can I apply for a visa when I first enter China on my way to Singapore?

Please apply for China visa in Canada, temporary visitors to Singapore should apply for a Chinese visa in their own country. You can't obtain a China visa on arrival in Beijing airport.
