does Tourist Visa requires a plane ticket book before applying for it?

i had almost everything ready to apply for the L visa but don't have plane ticket yet, is itinerary ticket is OK? also if I may ask about the invitation letter does it necessary to put that my husband will sponsor my trip cause i am unable to submit a bank statement of mine.. thnaks
