for me to stay there with her. What type of visa should I get?  Do I need a medical examine in the USA or can I get that in China? I don't speak much Mandarin? Any advice? You need to apply for a L visa to China, then make marriage registration in China. The medical examination is not required for L visa application. Once you get married in China, you can try to apply for a visa with long term stay duration, such as 60 days or 90 days. You can take $8,000 into China, but you need to fill the Customs Declaration because it is more than $ 5000 (5,000 US dollars (or equivalent in any foreign currency) or 20,000 CNY is permitted.) if gold coins are less than 50g (2 ounce), they are duty-free and do not need to be declared. If the weight exceeds the limitation, you should declare it.
