I'm Nigerian.I'll visit Malaysia as a tourist. Can I apply for a study visa to China from Malaysia?

Please may you help me figure out if i can apply from Malaysia for a chinese student visa. I need to visit Malaysia with a tourist visa before moving to China. Thanks.
If so, what are the required documents? Is one month enough to stay in Malaysia during the processing of the chinese visa? Thanks a lot.
