we are planing a cruise with Princes-Diamond 16 days---Singapore/Beijin-- Do we need a Visa...? $ ?

Yes, US citizens need a visa to travel to China. If you are going to disembark only in Beijing, then a single-entry visa will be OK. A single-entry China visa costs USD140.
