About:Chinese Embassy in Pakistan

Is it compulsory now to have police verification (though being government employee) or NOC from department for Student Visa application?

I have been enrolled for M.Sc Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing at Wuhan University through a bilateral protocol/workplan by my department Survey of Pakistan and State Bureau of Survey and Mapping (SBSM), China. I have completed all requirements mentioned at notice board and at the website. However when I reached the counsalete for the Visa, I am asked to have Police Verification Certificate (not mentioned at the requirement gven at above). I apprised that I am Federal Government Employee (Survey of Pakistan). All other formalities are completed and one of my collegaue last year was granted visa without this certificate, but I was refused to enter.

Please let me know Is it compulsory now to have police verification (though being government employee) or NOC from department could serve the purpose as verification will take some days.

I shall be obliged for guidance at the earliest as I am already getting late.

If it is your first visit to China, you should provide your local police character/clearance certificate.
This rules began to apply since the April of this year.

Now, you have to provide the police verification (though being government employee).
