JW201 is for those studying in China on a full scholarship or partial scholarship while JW202 is for those studying in China by self-supporting or partial scholarship. The Chinese authorized unit is the one who decides which one to issue.5

1. After you are enrolled by a school, the school will issue you the JW201 form.
2. You need the pre admission notice from the university.
3. After that, you can take the admission notice, JW201 form and other required documents to apply for student X visa.0
