I WILL BE AT KUNMING ON MY WAY BACK FROM SANGHAI, FOR NINE HOURS. CAN I GO OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT?

Well, if your Chinese visa is still valid, you could go outside of the airport in Kunming on your way back from Shanghai.
