Do I have to book train ticket in advance?

Do I have to book train ticket in advance for the following:
Shanghai Hongqiao station to Guangzhou Beijing Road, Yuexiu
and From Guangzhou Yuexiu to go to East Beijing. Is it more expensive if I book in advance or how much time shall I book it

Since train tickets are always hard to purchase in China, it is better for you to book the tickets in advance. And there are no trains departing from Shanghai Hongqiao station to Guangzhou, but several ones are leaving from Shanghai south station. There will be extra service & delivery fees if booking the tickets in advance online.
