where is the suzhou new district located?

Im moving to Suzhou in a few weeks from the US.  I am trying to figure out where my work will be.  I am going to be teaching at a school in the Suzhou New District.  How far is that from the city center?  Is there anything to do around there (restaurants, attractions, bars, shopping, etc)?

The district is located 5 km west of Suzhou, in the Jiangsu province. Restaurants and shops are normal there. You may also find several bars at this area. Suzhou Fairyland is a nice garden at Suzhou New District .
