we are tavelling to China mid Oct 11 for two weeks.15 Days Standard of China Highlights Hong Kong - Guilin - could you advise on what to take. there will be several nights out where we will have to dress semi formally. thank you for any help

Do you mean the clothes you need to take? A long-sleeve t-shirt and a thin coat are enough. These two places are in the southern part of China, which is warmer than the north. For the semi formal occssion, the dresses or something not casual are fine for females (I'm not clear how formal the occasion is); males can wear suits.
