About:Visa Policy of China

I want to marry a Chinese girl, how can I get a single certificate?

I plan to travel to China second week of December. I have been in correspondance with QiuLian for long time. I would like to ask her to marry her there. She has told me that if I do so,I would need a single certificate. What is this form,how do I fill one out,and when does it need to be filled out by?? Thank you for your time. Dan Wells

You should prepare for a single status in US before going to China. First, you need an Affidavit of Single Status, signed before a notary public. Second, get it certified by the Secretary of the State Office of the state where the document is executed. Last, you need apply to the correct Chinese embassy/Consulate General which holds consular jurisdiction over your area of residence in USA. Documents needed for Authentication are:
1. Authentication Application Form from the Chinese embassy's website, completed and signed by the yourself.
2. Photocopy of your passport.
3. The original and photocopy of the notarized and Secretar of State certifiedAffidavit of Single Status.
Regular processing from Chinese embassy/consulate is 4 working days. rush and express service may also available.
