When is better to visit the Great Wall?

Which time period is better to visit the Great Wall of China and other sites in Beijing, middle august or late september?

Late September is better. August is still hot in Beijing, especially at noon. Also, august is the summer holiday and there are many student visitors there, which may make the popular sites crowded.
