From Pingyao to Jiexiu

Is it possible to just show up at the train station in Pingyao & easily get a ticket to Jiexiu in September 2011 or is it a busy time to travel and we should maybe try to get a ticket well in advance? Are there buses also to Jiexiu from Pingyao? What are the time schedules?
