Thank you Leo for your answer. Where can I buy the high-speed train tickets (to Qufu) in Shanghai?

Also, is the second class seat comfortable enough?

You could purchase the train tickets at any railway station in Shanghai in advance. And the second-class seat is comfortable for most, of course, you could experience the more capacious first-class seat

Thank you Leo for your answers which clear my doubts about my intended trip to Qufu. What I wanted to do is this: we will travel to Shanghai and from there, take a high speed train to Qufu. Thinking of travelling in October 2011. Wonder if the October crowd is there and what the weather is like there? Thank you.

Except of Oct 1~7, there will be not so many travellers. The weather is fine in Oct without too much sunshine or rainfall. Just enjoy it!
