Tips on travelling to Jinan, Shandong

Hi China Experts,

We are travelling to Shanghai in October. From there, we are thinking of taking a fast train to Jinan and we will visit Qufu, Taishan and other scenic spots in Shandong. What tips can you give me? Thank you
