i would like to travel from xi'an to jiuzhaigou this august. can i do that?

Is it best to take a bus or a train? If I cannot travel from Xi'an to Jiuzhaigou directly how do you recommend I get there? I would like to stay one night then go on to Songpan. Are there buses that go to Songpan from Jiuzhaigou?Thanks a bunch.

Then I would suggest you take train from Xian to Jiuzhaigou and then take bus from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou. The bus journey is 10 hours. Yes, there is bus from Jiuzhaigou to Songpan, just 2 or 3 buses a day.
