Is there a expiry date on the HK ID Card 3 stars?

Hi I have a HK ID card (3-star), issued september 2008.
Currently I am living abroad, in Netherlands.

Is there a expiry date on the HK ID Card 3 stars? I couldnt find any information about this.?
Some are saying that you must visit HK once per 3 years? But couldnt find a confirmation about this info... is this true?

If its true it means that I must return to HK before september this year.....?

Anyone can provide me a link or the correct information?

Thanks you for the time

Hong Kong permanent identity card is issued by the Immigration Department to citizens who has a right of abode in Hong Kong identity card. Hong Kong permanent identity card, commonly known as “3 (stars) stars” because they are a permanent resident identity cards, note there are “***” name tags.

Started from 30th November, 2008, all the HK ID Card 3 stars issued before 23rd June, 2003 expired. Holders should renew their HK ID card through the Immigration Department of Hong Kong Government. If holders are not in Hong Kong, they can renew their card when they return to Hong Kong.

You don't need to worry about your HK ID card 3 stars, it doesn't expire. You don't need to return to HK before September this year.
