I will be in Shanghai starting this August until November. Can you please suggest the ideal accommodation for four months there? And what types of clothes I should bring?

Since you will stay in Shanghai for such a long time, you'd better rent an apartment which may be cheaper than hotels for 4 months. You can find a lot of information about apartment rental online, but you need to be caution of being cheated. It is better for you to find an agent to help you.  It is the hot summer from August to September. You can wear short-sleeved T-shirts or short, while it is the cool Autumn in October and November, you need to wear Long-sleeved T-shirt, Jacket or Jeans. Well, an umvrella is needed when you travelling to Shanghai during that time.
